Danso apologizes for injury
Kevin Danso, the Austrian international defender, suffered a broken nose in a collision with Kylian Mbappé during Lens' 2-0 home victory over Lorient in the French league on Sunday.
Danso, 25, was an innocent bystander in the incident, which occurred in the second half of the match.
Mbappé, who was making his first appearance for Paris Saint-Germain since returning from the World Cup, was attempting to dribble past Danso when the two players collided.
Danso was left with a bloodied nose and was forced to leave the field for treatment.
He returned to the game shortly afterwards, but was clearly in discomfort.
After the match, Danso took to social media to apologize to Mbappé for the injury.
"I am sorry that Kylian Mbappé was injured in our duel," Danso wrote on Twitter.
"It was an unfortunate accident and I wish him a speedy recovery."
Mbappé's injury is a blow to PSG, who are already without Neymar and Lionel Messi due to injury.
