Brothers Inaki and Nico Williams Make History in Spanish Top Flight

Inaki Williams Reacts to Younger Brother's Eye-Catching Performance

Athletic Bilbao's Inaki and Nico Williams made history in the Spanish top flight when both found the net in the same match. It was the first time two brothers had scored in the same La Liga game for the Basque club.

Inaki, 29, scored the opening goal in Athletic's 4-0 win over Cadiz, while Nico, 20, added the second. It was a special moment for the brothers, who are both products of Athletic's youth academy.

"I'm so happy for Nico," said Inaki. "He's worked so hard for this and he deserves it. It's a dream come true for both of us."

Nico, who made his debut for Spain earlier this year, was equally delighted.

"It's an incredible feeling," he said. "To score in the same game as my brother is something I will never forget."

The Williams brothers are not the first players of African heritage to represent Athletic Bilbao. Jonas Ramalho, the son of a Ghanaian father and a Spanish mother, made his debut for the club in 2011.

However, the Williams brothers are the first African-born players to score for Athletic in La Liga.

Their success is a testament to the club's commitment to diversity and inclusion. It is also a sign of the growing number of African players in Europe's top leagues.
